New to WordCamp? No Problem. What to Expect at WCNEO

Whether you’re a blogger, developer, designer or entrepreneur, WordCamp Northeast Ohio offers something for you!

“WordCamps are informal, community-organized events that are put together by WordPress users like you. Everyone from casual users to core developers participate, share ideas, and get to know each other.”
– WordCamp Central

During this two-day event (June 11th & 12th) you can expect to learn all about WordPress, mingle with like-minded people, get your swag on, and have all of your WordPress questions answered, too.

Registration and Opening Remarks
Since we’ll start each day with registration (8:00 AM) and opening remarks (8:45 AM/9:00 AM), you’ll have plenty of time to acclimate yourself with the venue, locate your sessions, and settle in before we begin.

Keynotes
We have two exceptional Keynote Speakers you won’t want to miss! Saturday (9:00 AM), Eric A. Meyer joins us to discuss Design for Real Life and Sunday (9:15 AM), Chris Lema lets you know if he Can Predict Your Future.

Sessions
Next up, you’ll attend whichever sessions you want! Our fantastic lineup of speakers (from near and far) will deliver a variety of topics for all skill sets and roles within the WordPress community.

Each session runs about 30 minutes with an additional 15 minutes at the end of each for Q&A and discussions (participation encouraged), leaving you plenty of navigation time between rooms and sessions.

We recommend browsing the schedule and speaker bios ahead of time to get a feel for which talks most interest you.

Sponsors
Of course WordCamp Northeast Ohio wouldn’t be possible without the help of our fabulous Sponsors. They’ll be located throughout the venue hallways, so take a spin by and hear how their excellent products and services can make your WordPress experience even better. And don’t forget to grab some awesome swag while you’re there!

“Hallway sessions” are also a great way to mingle with our WordCamp volunteers and speakers, too!

Lunch
When we break for lunch Saturday (12:00 PM), you can wander through the nearby downtown area to visit the local artisan restaurants and shops in beautiful Kent. This is the perfect time to get to know new folks and socialize, too.

If you haven’t made any connections by lunch, no worries! Keep informed on where fellow WordCampers are headed with #WCNEO on Twitter. You’ll find WordCampers are a very social and diverse group of people who are enthusiastic about all things WordPress (and always happy to interact with newbies). So whatever you do, don’t go it alone!

Sunday (12:00 PM), we’ll bring in lunch and give you time to catch your breath as we head into the final stretch of our weekend.

Closing Remarks & After Party
Both days we’ll end sessions together with closing remarks (4:20 PM/3:30 PM), and Saturday evening we’ll head over to the After Party.

The After Party is a social event where you can follow-up and relax in a casual atmosphere with other WordPress peeps (speakers, volunteers, organizers and other attendees).
